Zolo wines come from Bodega Tapiz which is one of Argentina's most technologically advanced wineries. The first Zolo wines were produced in 2004 and have been called Genuinely excellent wines by Steve Tanzer. Zolo gets fruit from selected vineyards in Mendoza and Salta and they are best known for the everyday drinking Malbec and Torrontes, but they make a full range of classic varieties. Wines are made by Fabian Valenzuela, who is following the family trade as his father and grandfather did before him. After studying viticulture in he has more than 20 years experience working in Mendoza. They are very lucky to have Jean Claude Berrouet as consulting viticulturist who was the winemaker at Chateau Petrus for 44 years before retiring from that post. The goal of the Zolo classic range of wines is to offer the consumer a great value for every day drinking with consistency and fruit purity. The Reserve range is aged in French oak before release and aimed at special occasions.
