Surprised at how sweet this was, especially at 90 proof! The "smoked maple" translates to maple syrup, but in a welcoming way. A bit too sweet to drink neat for my liking, but I have found it to be a great addition to an old fashioned (in substitution of simple syrup/sugar). While not a go-to bourbon, as Knob Creek has come to be for me, it does have its place in my liquor cabinet as a dessert dram and cocktail enhancer/mixer.
